APA Citation

What Is APA

APA is a system for documenting sources in scholarly writing.  It is the style of choice for writing that demands clarity and precision, and is used most often in the social, behavioral and natural sciences.  APA citation style is also used for writing that is going to be submitted for publication in a journal.

The APA Manual is the reference guide for how to cite your sources.  The current edition of the APA Manual can be found in the library or you can click the image below to access a free APA style tutorial:

You can also find help for how to cite your sources on the APA style website.  Once you are on the site, choose Style & Grammar Guidelines

Regardless of these general guidelines, your teacher or professor's guidelines always take precedence!
